Fellow haunters! In July of 2019, various places in Salem, Danvers and Marblehead were transformed into the set of the new Adam Sandler Netflix movie Hubie Halloween. For this girl who loves Halloween, seeing Halloween come early, Hollywood style was spectacular!
The movie is set in Salem and I know that Maya Rudolph, Steve Buscemi (LOVE HIM) and Adam Sandler were seen around Salem throughout the summer of 2019. According to Bloody Disgusting, “the plot follows Hubie Dubois (Adam Sandler) who, despite his devotion to his hometown of Salem (and its legendary Halloween celebration), is a figure of mockery for kids and adults alike. But this year, something really is going bump in the night, and it’s up to Hubie to save Halloween.” I can't wait to see it. It will begin streaming on Netflix October 7th. That weekend will be creeptackular with Haunting of Bly Manor too.
You can purchase some of the props from the Hubie movie at Witch City Consignment on Essex St in Salem. Some are more pricey than others, depends on the size/originality of the piece. Pretty cool to have a piece of the movie though. I have a few myself. Nothing too crazy, they had so many Halloween props that they are essentially Halloween decorations in our house (two-for-ones for us). Worth it. Witch City Consignments is on Insta as Witch City Thrift and is a cool shop to check out even if you don't buy any props.
