Summer Fun Part One!

After another weekend in Salem, we have some changes to our top 5 places to eat! We went to Howling Wolf for lunch, O'Neills for dinner and Red's for breakfast. At Howling Wolf, I had the Pollo con Chorizo (shown below) and my husband had the Chicken Fajita Burrito on greens which were both dee-lish. My daughter had the Chicken Fingers which she barely ate and was not crazy about. The stand out for the weekend was O'Neills. I had the Steak 'N' Cheese with onions and mushrooms with a side of Caesar salad which was so good my 10 year old abandoned her burger to eat too. My husband had the Cobb Salad which was presented beautifully with avocado fans. We decided that O'Neills was better quality, quantity and value with the added touch of Irish Music! Red's, as always, nailed it.

We had the pleasure of visiting the Cheese Shop which I will be adding to places to visit. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and helpful as my daughter, a budding cheese aficionado, made choices. The young man who waited on us gave us samples and based on our taste gave us some suggestions. Our favorites included Prairie Breeze and Manchego. There was also a great selection of wine.

In addition, we visited Turtle Alley in its new location. Same great chocolates with some interesting oddities (ex: chocolate covered Twinkies, chocolate covered peanut butter Oreos). Definitely worth a visit.
